Well one does have to be 'cautious' when reading most of what's on the Internet !
When looking at interfacing problems like yours, you really need to compare that they're hardware IS the same as yours.
Not all microcomputers are the same 'inside' and as pointed out that QN8007 is NOT an official I2C device.
It amazes me the number of '5 volt PIC - 3 v peripheral' problems that get posted here,let alone that RS-232 isn't +-12 anymore.....
Sadly I think a lot don't read the devices datasheets,confirm the 'specs',do low level bench testing.
