External EEPROM

Hello,

i want to read and write to an external flash nand eeprom, and i don't know if am able to use the normal EEPROM built-in functions that avialable with my PCM Compiler to read and write? or there is another functions to use with this type of memory?

You can't use the built-in EEPROM functions for NAND memory.
The built-in functions only work with simple EEPROM chips,
such as a 24LC256. The NAND memory is much more complex.
CCS does not have any built-in functions for NAND memory.
You must write the code yourself. No one is going to write
the code for you.

Here is the link to an application note page. There is sample
code down at the bottom of the page. You will have to modify
it to work with a PIC, and with the CCS compiler.

Or, to be more clear, the built-in library functions work with
EEPROM that's internal to the PIC chips. (ie., in a 16F877)
The sample drivers that are provided in the Drivers folder
(C:\Program Files\Picc\Drivers) work with external EEPROM chips
such as the 24LC256. </font>
