1 - I got the standard CCS bootloader going over the hardware RS232 on a PIC16f877. Can anyone help me to get it going over a software RS232?
2- Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent the compiler from adding the ;PIC16F877 comment at the end of the hex file. (this makes the bootloader hang and I have to edit the HEX file every time!)
3- Is there a way to automatically reset the PIC after bootloading? I have a hardware reset on the board.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you
Levett

Levett,
The ";PIC16F877" is a comment line and should be ignored by the bootloader. My bootloader ignores all characters from the ';' to the end of line and works with the CCS HEX Files OK.
If you don't mind my asking; since you are using the 16F877 with h/w USART, what is the reason to not use it in favor of s/w bit-banging?
