I would like to use a LCD display with a PIC 16F877, are there any good displays available.. I would prefer a commonly used display.. something that is in stock.
I just read a book by John B. Peatman, where a LCD display - Hitachi LM 044L was used , is this a good display, or are there better ones available.
Requirement.:
4 line ascii display
SPI or I2C modes preffered.
Easy avalability.
Supported by CCS compiler.
thanks
arun

I use the Optrexdisplays available in several styles from Digi-Key. Digi-Key also has Bezels for that finished look.
For really nice looking displays Digi-Key also has the Noritake Vacuum Fluorescent types that are code compatible with the LCD's.

Digikey can be a bit pricy on these at times. For a real good selection of both parallel and serial character and graphic LCD modules try CrystalFontz Inc. Prices are pretty good, very wide selection.
